Our commitment to the communities where we work and live is very deep and plays an important part of who we are. For years, Brendan has served on various non-profit boards and committees, as well as, generously contributed to, and helped raise money and awareness for the critical mission of organizations in Central Connecticut and Southwest Florida. Please see the organizations below that we partner with and support through advertising, volunteering, and contributions from the Conry Asset Management Charitable Fund.
New Britain Museum of American Art
Brendan has been volunteering in various roles at the New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA) for 25 years, including his time as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2001-2004. He is now Trustee Emeriti and continues as an active member of the NBMAA Investment Committee. The NBMAA is a cultural gem dedicated to servicing all people by pursuing excellence in art through collecting, exhibiting, and education. Conry Asset Management as well as Brendan and Carol Conry have contributed to the museum’s annual fund, capital campaigns, and are members of both the John Butler Talcott Society and the Heritage Society. In 2021-2022, Conry Asset Management was a corporate sponsor of “Strict Beauty,” an exhibit of Sol LeWitt prints.
Central Connecticut State University Foundation
Education has always been an area of giving for Conry Asset Management and led Brendan to become a Director of the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Foundation. He finished his nine-year term as a director in 2022 after being Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee for three years. The CCSU Foundation was created in 1971 at the request of CCSU to raise private contributions to support scholarships, academic enrichment, and research. In April 2014, Brendan established the Conry Asset Management Scholarship Fund for students seeking careers in the finance and investment industries. Brendan gave a keynote address at the 2017 CCSU Foundation Scholar and Donor Reception to students, parents, faculty, and CCSU staff on the importance of philanthropy in higher education. Brendan has also deepened his commitment to students by being a mentor on career and finance issues.
CCARC
CCARC was originally founded in 1952 by a group of parents who gathered in their homes to support one another as they faced the challenges and rewards of raising a child with Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities. Today, CCARC is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization offering an array of services to support adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. Conry Asset Management has been a corporate sponsor of the CCARC Annual Charity Golf Open. In addition, Brendan has contributed and helped raise needed funds for CCARC’s annual fund and recent Home Improvement Initiative.
Community Foundation of Greater New Britain
In 2006, as a vehicle to give back, Brendan established the Conry Asset Management Charitable Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB). This fund receives a portion of Conry Asset Management’s profits and grants are made to support food insecurity, education, the arts, and early childhood development. Since 1941, the CFGNB has been a signature local resource for those who aspire to make our community a better place. In addition to contributions to this donor advised fund, as well as the CFGNB Annual Fund, Brendan served on the CFGNB Investment Committee from 2001-2014.
Wounded Warriors of Collier County
Established in Collier County in 2010, Wounded Warriors of Collier County (WWCC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to assist with the needs of Veterans and their families, with a focus on housing, mental health, and education. The vision of WWCC is to see that “No Veteran is Left Behind” in our country. Conry Asset Management has supported The Delta House, a WWCC 10-unit apartment complex purchased in 2022 that can house up to 20 veterans.
Prudence Crandall Center
For more than 45 years, the Prudence Crandall Center (PCC) has been a leader in Connecticut’s efforts to reduce the devastating impact of domestic violence in the lives of victims, their children, and the community. Today, PCC is one of only a few programs in the country offering the full spectrum of shelter, housing, and support services needed. Conry Asset Management, as well as Brendan and Carol Conry, have supported PCC’s Annual Fund for many years and in 2022 became members of the Bright Futures Giving Society, which provides crucial support to filling funding gaps across a broad array of PCC’s life-changing services. Brendan has also provided fundraising expertise to help PCC raise much needed funds in support of their mission.
